Day 74: Strength.

Where do you get your strength?

When you feel like you've been beaten down.

Your inner voice, your fire, passion just beginning to sputter out.

Today is one of those days.

I'm sorry about today's post.

I'm having a hard time writing.

  1. This is a tough one, because I feel like I am going through something similar myself. Let me tell you, a mid-life crisis isn't nearly as fun and exciting as they make it appear in the movies. ;)

Anyway, I don't have anything wise and wonderful to tell you - because I am seeking the answer(s) myself.

But, something I read once somewhere - made me feel a little bit better. Maybe it will help you?

It went something like this: (Apologies in advance because 1) I am too lazy to look up the real quote online - and 2) I don't really give a flying f what the real quote is...)

"Living courageously does not mean that you are never scared, nervous, anxious or even terrified.

It does not mean that you aren't sometimes discouraged and dejected.

It does not mean that you don't sometimes feel lonely - and alone.

It does not mean that you never have doubts and lack self-confidence.

It does not mean that you don't feel tired, burnt out, or exhausted sometimes.

It does not mean that never doubt your intentions - that you never worry about failing.

Living courageously, means that, at many points, you will experience some, if not all of the things above. Sometimes, you may get "lucky" enough to experience them all at once - all together!

Living courageously, means that you experience all these things - and still keep going. One step at a time. One foot in front of the other. Making the long journey - with no guarantee that things will be puppies and rainbows on the other side.

    That takes courage."

    Don't give up.

While I can't guarantee that there will be puppies and rainbows on the other side, I can tell you that the journey of life is rough and bumpy. But, the people you will get to meet along the way - and the wonderful (and sometimes stressful) experiences you will encounter - will make for a rich, full - and, ultimately, a wonderfully interesting life.

Life is what you make of it, some people say. (That may be true to some extent - but I think some people start out with better OEM packages.)

I do know that this life is all I'm guaranteed. (No, I'm not going to argue religion with anyone...) As far as I know that I'm not making it out alive. So, I'm gonna enjoy the ride as much as I can.

    I hope you will too...

    Hang in there.

  2. One's happiness should be fond in themselves and not based on what others think of them. So chin up! It's a new day and there's always a new adventure around the corner to jump onto! Things will get better.
